The Football Times is an independent football scores and comparison tool operated by Guthrie Albertson. It is built for fans who want to check a claim, compare players over a chosen stretch, and share the numbers behind their argument.

How comparisons work

Choose an NFL season, regular season or playoffs, and a week range. Add up to three players per side, then compare passing, rushing, receiving or fantasy production. Shared results link back to the same selection so another fan can inspect or adjust it.

Totals add observed values. Efficiency rates divide combined production by combined opportunities. A single player's per-game figure divides by recorded games; a group includes only weeks in which every selected player has a recorded game, and its average divides by those complete weeks. Byes and missing games are excluded. Missing statistics are shown as —, never invented zeroes.

Reading the result fairly

Check the recorded-week count on both sides. Different samples, opportunities, positions and opponents can explain a difference. Highlighted statistics do not establish an overall winner. Historical line hit rates describe the selected sample; they are not forecasts or live betting odds.

Sources and freshness

Stat Room currently covers archived NFL 2020–2025 offensive player logs from nflverse, licensed under CC BY 4.0. The Football Times selects fields and calculates aggregates. Each result gives its source update date. Full-season completeness is not independently certified.

Live college FBS scores come from CollegeFootballData and NFL scores from BALLDONTLIE through our shared backend. The scheduled service typically checks each league every one to two minutes during simultaneous play. That cadence is not a guarantee of broadcast-level freshness; upstream delays can persist.
